ACMO’s COVID-19 RESPONSE

ACMO Member Services Continue

The safety and well-being of our members and staff are of paramount importance during this challenging COVID-19 outbreak. To do our part to slow the spread of this virus, ACMO’s offices are closed, and staff are working remotely from home to ensure there is as little disruption as possible to our member services. Because the office phones will not be manned during this time, please contact us by email at info@acmo.org, and your inquiry will be routed to the appropriate staff member.

Your COVID-19 Information Clearinghouse

The COVID-19 outbreak and recommendations on how to mitigate its spread have been evolving at a rapid pace. Because this is a new virus, there is a sense of urgency to react, especially considering many of our members are responsible for the safety of large numbers of condominium owners. As well, there is considerable uncertainty regarding precisely how to react, what constitutes “best” practice, and the ramifications, legal or otherwise, of implementing these practices.

To assist you, ACMO is committed to serving as a clearinghouse of COVID-19 information as it relates to condominium management and will continue to monitor recommendations of subject matter experts from a variety of sources and post this information across of our various media channels. For your convenience, we’ve placed all of these posts in one spot on our website newsfeed (follow this link). As we find other useful resources, we will add them to this list, so check back often!

ACMO Events Postponed

We have suspended our in-person events for the foreseeable future, but in the meantime will be offering a series of educational webinars. As soon as the government lifts the ban on public meetings, we will resume our planned events and honour any prepaid registrations or sponsorships.

Lobbying For ACMO Members

ACMO has also been busy lobbying various government agencies to ensure they are aware of the challenges our members face in dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak, so they will take this into account when formulating policy and regulations.

Stay Tuned…

ACMO will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and pass along recommendations from subject matter experts in the condominium industry as well as the Ontario Ministry of Health, the Public Health Agency of Canada. Please continue to vigorously practice and promote physical distancing and personal protective practices and stay healthy and safe!
