| Hello all ,when the owners of our condo took over the BOD from the builders their was a 3 , 2 and a 1 year term .I thought at the time we voted the president was 3y , treasure 2y and secretary 1y .Ive read my declaration and it said a min of 3 directors.my question is do we have 3 officers or 3 directors and do we need a president ,treasurer and secretary also is thier some where i can find thier roles. | |

| You can check your by-law #1, that will be the corporations organizational by-law. The Condominium Act requires you to have a President and a Secretary, your by-law #1 will determine if there are other officers required.
The first terms of directors are staggered. After this initial election, all terms should be for 3 years (unless a lesser period is stipulated in your by-laws). The owners elect directors to the board. The board will determine, either by election or appointment, which of them fill various "officer" roles. These roles should be described in your by-law #1 |
