Operations Assistant

SHELTER CANADIAN PROPERTIES LIMITED are currently seeking an Operations Assistant to join our team in Yorkville. The Operations Assistant works under the direction of the Property Manager to oversee the administrative and maintenance operations of a particular portfolio/development. They will be responsible for meeting all contractual obligations and deliverables as well as achieving or exceeding the company’s and client’s key performance indicator targets.

As a member of the property management team, the key responsibilities of the Operations Assistant include but are not limited to:
• Property management office administration
• Tenant file administration,
• Provide administrative assistance to the property manager
• Prepare/edit/distribute letters and notices
• Assist with preparing management reports and packages for Board Meetings
• Assist with mechanical investigations throughout the property
• Contact vendors for quotes and follow up with them
• Oversight and follow up with vendors regarding projects
• Working with other Property Management, Security and Facilities staff team members
• ACMO and/or CMRAO educational courses are required (either completed or in process)
• Other assignments within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job as reasonably requested from time to time by the Property Manager and/or the Board of Directors
• Other responsibilities, as required.
 

Desired Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, the candidate must possess the following combination of education, experience, and skills:
• Experience in residential property management;
• Superior English oral and written communication (Mandarin and/or Cantonese an asset)
• Strong computer skills – MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to meet deadlines proficiently;
• Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
• Energetic leadership. Enjoys leading by example. Using a proactive attitude that will positively influence, motivate and energize the team and building residents.
• Proven ability to identify, evaluate and develop new ideas with supportable results,
• Ability to apply logic and reasoning to effectively manage projects and provide solutions or recommendations,

Tentative Start date: as soon as possible.
